ICE RACING ATV’S 1983

Racing back in 1983 really was different in a lot of ways, especially ice racing. These were very good years and we had a lot of fun even if we froze our butts off. Remember that old saying “you can never go home again” which means that things will never be like they were in the past and that is the case with ice racing in Nova Scotia. With GLOBAL WARMING we haven’t been able to hold an ice racing season since 1985 and the chances are we will never again hold one in the near future. SO enjoy the pictures and if you were there you will remember when ATV racing was just starting in the Maritimes the camaraderie experienced and everyone having one hell of a good time.

Angus came out to plow the snow off the ice.

The corners are tricky in ice racing and many a leading driver has parted ways with his machine after loosing traction.

Leaning heavy.

Look at that, it’s one of them new Suzuki 1983 LT125’s. Man, will that baby haul ass.

The dirt bikes were out in full force.

Once they got their balance they put on a good show.

Recognize any of this crew? They are from Pro Cycle, the NEW Honda motorcycle shop in town.
